Meridian Stripe Merino Stair Runner
The Meridian Stripe Merino Stair Runner is a luxury hand-tufted wool runner designed to bring colour, movement, and refined texture to the staircase. Made in South Africa from 100% New Zealand Merino Wool, this runner combines soft underfoot comfort with a beautifully structured striped design.
Its vertical stripe composition creates a strong sense of flow, guiding the eye naturally up the staircase. The design feels fresh and contemporary while still retaining the warmth and craftsmanship expected from a premium wool stair runner.
Whether used in a modern family home, a boutique guesthouse, or a carefully curated interior design project, Meridian Stripe adds personality without overwhelming the space.
100% New Zealand Merino Wool
Meridian Stripe is made from 100% New Zealand Merino Wool, chosen for its softness, natural resilience, and premium hand feel. Wool remains one of the most desirable fibres for stair runners because it offers a beautiful balance of comfort, texture, and durability.
The wool pile gives the runner a warm, tactile surface, while the striped layout brings a clean decorative element to the staircase.
12mm High-Low Loop Pile
This stair runner features a 12mm high-low loop pile, giving the surface a rich, dimensional texture. The high-low construction enhances the striped pattern, allowing each colour band to feel slightly raised, sculptural, and handcrafted.
The loop pile creates a soft but structured finish, making Meridian Stripe especially suitable for interiors where texture is just as important as colour.
Hand-Tufted in South Africa

Each Meridian Stripe runner is hand-tufted in South Africa by skilled local makers. This allows for a high level of detail, quality control, and flexibility when it comes to custom sizing.
As a made-to-order product, each runner may have slight natural variations in texture and finish. These small differences are part of the handcrafted character of the piece.
Standard and Custom Sizing
The standard width for Meridian Stripe is 800mm, making it suitable for most residential staircases.
Available standard lengths:
- 6m
- 8m
For longer staircases, landings, wider stairways, passage runners, or bespoke project requirements, please contact us for custom sizing options.
Designed for Staircases, Passages, and Landings
Although designed primarily as a stair runner, Meridian Stripe can also be used as a hallway runner, passage runner, or landing runner where a continuous striped design is required.
The linear stripe layout works especially well in narrow spaces, helping to visually lengthen the area while adding softness and warmth underfoot.
Pair with Stair Rods
For a more decorative installation, Meridian Stripe can be paired with stair rods and brackets. Stair rods add a classic finishing detail and work beautifully with both contemporary and traditional staircases.
Please note that stair rods are decorative. The runner should still be professionally secured using the correct stair runner installation method.
Lead Time
Meridian Stripe is made to order with an estimated 4–6 week lead time from order confirmation.
Custom sizes, special colour requirements, or project-specific specifications may affect the final production timeline.

Care & Maintenance
Regular vacuuming will help maintain the appearance and texture of your wool stair runner. Use a suction-only vacuum where possible and avoid aggressive rotating brush heads, as these may disturb the wool pile over time.
Clean spills immediately by blotting with a dry, absorbent cloth. Avoid rubbing, as this can push the spill deeper into the fibres. For deeper cleaning or stubborn marks, professional rug and carpet cleaning is recommended.
As with all wool products, slight shedding may occur at first and will reduce with regular care.
